Annual Appeal

Help NALM Achieve its $10,000 Goal

“Joy on the Journey: Dream~Serve~Collaborate” is the theme for the NALM 40th Anniversary. For forty years, church leaders like yourself have been dreaming, serving, and collaborating in lay ministry because of a call to serve something greater than themselves.

NALM traces its roots to 1977 when a group of visionary lay persons, vowed religious and clergy began meeting to share their expertise and to support one another in their common goals. They dreamed of an organization that would promote and strengthen lay ministry formation throughout the US. As an association, we now celebrate those beginnings and look to our future.

Why an Annual Appeal?

Our Annual Appeal goal of $10,000 will allow our association to expand its mission of supporting, strengthening, promoting, and advocating for lay ministry formation. Our Church deserves lay ministers who are well formed for service.

Since it is our 40th anniversary – prayerfully consider an anniversary gift: $40.00, $80.00, $160, $400.00, perhaps 40 cents a day ($146), or $40 every month. Your gift can be made as a “one-time” gift or you can choose to “pledge” an amount payable throughout the year. Of course, any other one-time or recurring donation is graciously welcome!

Sister Florita Rodman Scholarship

In addition, 50% of any amount raised over the goal will be added to the Sister Florita Rodman Scholarship Fund. This scholarship provides the opportunity for lay ministers with limited means to attend the national conference. One of our scholarship recipients from 2016 offered this reflection, “without receiving this scholarship I would not have been able to attend the conference in Albuquerque, NM.  The information from the keynotes and workshops gave me renewed energy.”
